Product & safety disclaimer
Please read this before using any product bought from us, particularly a device.
Cosmetics, not medicines
Everything we sell is a cosmetic product or a personal-care device. None of it is a medicine, and nothing on this website is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment for any condition.
If you have a diagnosed skin or scalp condition, are taking prescription medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to a doctor or dermatologist before starting a new product.
Results vary
Skincare and hair care work gradually, and how well they work differs from person to person depending on skin type, health, age, climate and consistency of use. We do not guarantee specific results, and we ask our customers not to expect them.
Patch test first
Before using any new product on your face or scalp, apply a small amount to the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours. If you notice redness, itching, burning or swelling, do not use the product. Stop using anything that causes a reaction and seek medical advice if it persists.
Active ingredients
Some of our products contain actives such as retinol, salicylic acid, niacinamide and vitamin C. Introduce these one at a time, start with the frequency stated on the packaging, and always use sunscreen during the day — several of these make skin more sensitive to sunlight.
Do not combine strong actives on the same night unless you know how your skin responds.
Using devices safely
Read the manual before first use. General points that apply to at-home beauty devices:
- Always use the eye protection supplied with light-based devices, and never point them at the eyes.
- Start at the lowest intensity and increase gradually.
- Do not use on broken, irritated, sunburnt or recently tanned skin.
- Do not use over tattoos, moles, or permanent make-up.
- Keep devices away from water unless the manual states they are waterproof.
IPL hair removal — who should not use it
IPL is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- have very dark skin tones, or very light or grey hair — IPL works by targeting pigment in the hair and may be ineffective or unsafe
- have a history of skin cancer, or have moles or lesions in the area
- are taking medication that increases light sensitivity
- have epilepsy triggered by flashing light
- are under 18
Consult a doctor if you are unsure. Perform the patch test described in the manual and wait 24 hours before treating a full area.
Keep away from children
Store all products and devices out of reach of children. Devices are not toys and are not intended for anyone under 18.
If something goes wrong
Stop using the product immediately and contact a medical professional if you have a serious reaction. Please also tell us — we take reports seriously and will refund an item that caused a reaction, in line with our returns policy.
